Bacon Brown Sugar Chicken Tenders are a delightful combination of savory and sweet, perfect for a cozy family dinner or a gathering with friends. This dish brings together the smoky flavor of bacon with the caramelized sweetness of brown sugar, making it a hit with both kids and adults alike. It's a simple yet satisfying recipe that can be prepared quickly, making it ideal for busy weeknights or a last-minute get-together. The origins of this dish are rooted in the comforting flavors of home-cooked meals, where simplicity meets deliciousness.
These Bacon Brown Sugar Chicken Tenders pair beautifully with a fresh green salad or some roasted vegetables for a balanced meal. You might also consider serving them with mashed potatoes or a warm, crusty bread to soak up any extra juices. For a fun twist, try them with a side of sweet potato fries or a tangy coleslaw to complement the sweet and savory notes of the chicken.

Servings: 4

Ingredients:

1 pound chicken tenders
8 slices of bacon
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for a bit of heat)

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, garlic powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using.
Wrap each chicken tender with a slice of bacon, securing the ends with a toothpick if necessary.
Roll each bacon-wrapped chicken tender in the brown sugar mixture, ensuring it's well-coated.
Place the coated chicken tenders on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the bacon is crispy.
Remove from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

Variations & Tips

For a different flavor profile, try using maple syrup instead of brown sugar for a maple-bacon twist. If you have picky eaters who aren't fond of spicy food, you can omit the cayenne pepper. For a healthier version, use turkey bacon and reduce the amount of brown sugar. You can also add a sprinkle of chopped fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for an aromatic touch. If you're serving these at a party, consider cutting the chicken tenders into smaller pieces and serving them as bite-sized appetizers with toothpicks.
