Making Cheese Crisps in a NuWave Oven

Making Cheese Crisps in a NuWave Oven

Making cheese crisps in a NuWave oven is quick and simple. Use parchment paper on the rack to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup, then cook the cheese until it's bubbly, golden, and crispy.

Ingredients
  • Cheese: Use 1 cup of finely shredded cheese. Good options include cheddar, parmesan, asiago, or a blend. You can also use thinly sliced cheese.
  • Optional seasonings: Add a pinch of your favorite spice blend for extra flavor. Try Italian seasoning, garlic powder, or smoked paprika.
Equipment
  • NuWave oven
  • NuWave cooking rack
  • Parchment paper
  • Cooling rack
Instructions
  1. Prepare the oven: Line the NuWave cooking rack with parchment paper. This will prevent the melted cheese from dripping and sticking. Place the rack on the 4-inch stand.
  2. Add the cheese: Create uniform tablespoon-sized mounds of cheese on the parchment paper. Leave about 2 inches of space between each pile, as the cheese will spread as it melts.
  3. Season (optional): If you're using seasonings, sprinkle them over the mounds of cheese.
  4. Bake the crisps: Set your NuWave oven to 400°F (200°C) and cook for 6 to 8 minutes. The cook time can vary, so start checking them at 6 minutes. The crisps are done when they are bubbly and the edges are golden brown.
  5. Cool completely: Use the parchment paper to transfer the crisps to a wire cooling rack. Letting them cool completely is key to making them hard and crispy.
  6. Store: Once fully cooled, you can store the crisps in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
