Bacon and Cream Cheese Filled Mushrooms

Bacon and Cream Cheese Filled Mushrooms

cream cheese stuffed mushrooms with bacon

A super easy, super delicious finger food that's perfect for cocktail parties to tailgating get-togethers! Yield: 16

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 12 minutes
Total Time 27 minutes

Ingredients

  • 16 medium size mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup (4 oz) cream cheese
  • (optional: 2 or 3 rashers of bacon, fried, but not super crisp)
  • (optional: fresh or dried herb of your choice)

Instructions

  1. Wipe the mushrooms with a damp cloth (never wash mushrooms) and remove the stem. No need for a knife, just pull the stem to one side and it pops out.
  2. If using, fry the bacon gently, then chop it into little pieces. Mix the bacon pieces into the cream cheese, until evenly mixed. If using herbs, mix it into the cream cheese.
  3. Stuff a little of the cream cheese mixture into each mushroom cap and place on a foil lined baking sheet.
  4. Place under the preheated broiler for about 4-6 minutes, or until desired color is reached. Serve hot, or warm.

Gail's Notes: I am really looking forward to trying this soon!
