Crunchy Ham & Cheese Casserole (TNT)

5 oz. elbow macaroni (uncooked)
1 1/2 c. cubed cooked ham or luncheon meat
1 (10 oz.) can condensed cream of chicken soup
1/2 c. sour cream
1/2 c. milk
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen broccoli spears or chopped (can use either), thawed
1/4 cup shredded carrots (optional)*
1 1/2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

1 (3 oz.) can French fried onions

Prepare macaroni according to package directions; drain. Combine macaroni and ham in 3 quart casserole. Blend soup, sour cream and milk, pouring half the mixture over ham and macaroni. Arrange broccoli on top. Pour on remaining sauce and sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Top with French fried onions and bake 5 minutes longer. Makes 6 servings.

Gail's Notes:  Very good "comfort" food recipe.  Might make this when our grandkids are over as I think they might actually like this, too. 
*Next time I think I'll try adding shredded carrots to the broccoli before adding it to the top of the pasta/ham mix. I might also this with peas instead of the broccoli, just to be different.
